UMA on Department of Agriculture’s National Food Security Summit

May 21, 2021

A national food security summit without a program for genuine agrarian reform only reinforces the oppressive status quo. Any measure it takes is a measure only for advancing the interests of landgrabbers and compradors who see agricultural land not as a source of nourishment but profit. Genuine agrarian reform is the first step to ensuring food self sufficiency founded on food sovereignty. -Antonio “Ka Tonying” Flores, UMA Chairperson
