The Council for People’s Development and Governance (CPDG), along with its network of human rights defenders (HRDs) and other civil society organizations (CSOs), renewed calls on the Philippine government to act decisively and be true to its declared commitment to respect human rights. This begins with ending impunity for continuing violations of the Filipino people’s human rights.
CPDG together with the Stop the Discrimination Coalition and the Commission on Human RIghts set up a dedicated booth to advocate for the legislation of the Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Bill (CADB), which aims to address discrimination faced by all marginalized sectors of Filipino society and the cross-sectional discrimination they confront. Additionally, CPDG emphasized the urgent passage of the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Equality Bill, which seeks to prohibit various forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression.
