On the first half of 2021, civil society organizations in the Philippines were struck by new guidelines and memoranda from government agencies that contain potential impacts on civic and democratic spaces in the country.
The Commission on Human Rights mentioned possible adverse effects of such policies on the work of development and humanitarian organizations as these recent guidelines may affect fund-raising activities of civil society organizations to both government or private donors from foreign countries.
It is in this light that Ecumenical Voice for Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines (EcuVoice) and the Council for People’s Development and Governance (CPDG) invites all concerned civil society organizations, non-government development actors, and non-profit organizations in a study session on June 25, 2021, 10:00am to 12:00nn to raise awareness on the aforementioned policies.
