UP College of Social Work and Community Development Research and Extension for Development Office
Naging matagumpay at full house ang opening program/forum, exhibit, press conference, at ang closing forum on El Nińo and Hunger. People’s Development and Governance (CPDG), ASCENT-Assert Socio-Economic Initiatives Network, IBON Foundation, at iba pang civil society organizations.

Philippine Network of Food Security Programmes
ICYMI: In its sharing during the “Pag-alabin: People-Led Development: A Forum-Exhibit on CSO’s Good Practices in Development Work” Forum held last May 21, 2024, the Philippine National Federation of Sugar Workers (PNFSP) highlighted its projects co-implemented with its member organizations, Farmers Learning Center-Caraga (FLC) and Urban Poor Resource Center (UPRC).
PNFSP showcased the efforts of these organizations in strengthening their existing agroecology initiatives. These initiatives address the economic, environmental, and health issues associated with conventional farming that is chemical-dependent;
and respond to the exacerbated food insecurity that escalated starting the pandemic. More importantly, PNFSP expressed solidarity with fellow NGOs in calling for an end to political repression, judicial harassment, and redtagging against development workers serving marginalized communities.
The forum-exhibit that lasted from 21st to 23rd of May aimed to present diverse practices in development work of various NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and to surface the challenges faced due to the shrinking civic space.
