CPDG stands in solidarity with the Ecumenical Institute for Labor Education and Research (EILER) and Otto De Vries, EILER’s volunteer researcher. We strongly denounce the government’s continuing red-tagging of CSOs, NGOs, POs, activists and individuals seeking redress from social injustices. For the last 40 years EILER has been providing research and education services in support for workers’ rights and welfare.

In the midst of the unprecedented health and economic crisis the Philippine government should focus on the urgent resolution of the unprecedented health and economic crisis, stop the attacks on groups and individuals working for genuine change and democratic governance. It should foster unity instead of divide; stop the attacks against people asserting their democratic rights to participation in development processes and governance.
