Every 7th of May, we celebrate the National Health Workers’ Day to honor all healthcare workers for their contributions in serving the Filipino people.

The Health Workers’ Day Act or Republic Act No. 10069 was enacted with the aim to give recognition to the public health sector and promote their rights and welfare.

On this day, we are reminded about their long-fight for proper wages and lack of budget for health. These concerns constitute a national problem as health workers are crucial in attaining universal healthcare, which is why we must join their battles as they have tended to ours.
